I actually can't eat bacon anymore. :( I've been on a forced diet for many years and the amount of grease in just ONE strip of American bacon gives me a mild stomach ache due to the fat/grease content. :/
I can't eat take home pizza anymore for the same reason. I eat one slice and the toilet and me become best friends half an hour later and even awhile after that I feel terrible.
Oh man, that blows. :/ I have Meniere's Disease, so I have to keep my sodium WAY down to prevent my symptoms. Low salt = low grease. Low grease diet for so long and you tend not to like greasy food anymore.
They actually serve American bacon in Canadian restaurants...I was mildly disappointed on my trip to Canada. Also, this leads me to believe that Canadians eat American bacon in their homes as well but I am not sure.
Many Canadians are rather americanized. Though I proudly eat Peameal Bacon every chance I get. It's made from the tenderloin, which is a very lean cut of meat. Traditionally it was cured and rolled in peameal, but is now rolled in cornmeal instead.
Since you posted the racist* question you've been downvoted 3 times more. Perhaps one shouldn't assume things. What if they did it because they don't like pretentious skinny people. I'm skinny, but I eat Canadian bacon all the time. And other high fat foods for that matter, because I don't hate myself.
I didn't see shadow post a racist question, all I saw was that they said they were Jewish and skinny and that's why they don't eat bacon ? Correct me if I'm mistaken but Jewish people aren't allowed to eat pork and maybe they didn't want to gain weight by eating bacon ? And it's kind of rude to say they hate themselves because they don't eat it. Also, depending on the type of fat that the food in question is high in, that could be bad for your body and some people don't want to hurt themselves.
Shadow said they don't eat it because they're jewish and skinny. Then posted a question asking the question "Which racist down voted me?" assuming that someone was judging based on religion instead of perhaps disliking thin people.
Also, saying that eating a food is directly related to being unhealthy is a crock of shit. I eat basically whatever I want while maintaining a healthy 170lbs. I do it by working out for 30 minutes in a day 4 days per week. I eat 4-7 times a day (3 meals, 4 snacks), drink at least 1 liter of water every day, and have never counted calories. Pork is my favourite meat, and I eat it often. I also love vegetables. Everything in moderation.
And one more thing: if you're Jewish and not from Israel, it's not a racist issue, it's anti-Semitic. It has it's own definable term, use it in your future arguments.
Okay one, maybe they thought it was a racist issue because of all the antisemitism going on right now? ( also thanks for the term, I forgot what it was called )
And weight doesn't define health. And yes unhealthy foods can cause you to be unhealthy depending on how much of it you eat. This man ate the recommended daily calorie count for a man of his stature in twinkies. He stayed thin but he ended up with diabetes.
But, like you said, everything in moderation because it's not like we're talking about a person who eats deep fried bacon with every meal.
