As a survivor of Atlanta, Georgia's 2014 Snowpocalypse, I can give a truthful testimony supporting this post. Took me 36 hours to make it from the Capitol (government class field trip thing) back to my home. Usually this is a 30 minute drive tops.
I live WAY in the North, and one year we had practically no snow. So the day that we got about an inch, they gave us a pity snow day. For once! A snow day without shoveling!
It barely sprinkled snow for two minutes and they closed the schools. I gave my kids a "back in my day I had walked to school in thigh high snow uphill" speech.
