What is this supposed to mean? Of course pawns are nearly worthless. They're pawns. And I'm pretty sure the saying is "At the end of the match, the pawn and the king go into the same box." I'm not trying to be hostile but can somebody explain?

Its a metaphor for the real world.

The rain symbolizes hardships of the real world. Only the ones with status get shielded from it, while the rest of the people with no status have to suffer out in the rain
