Well I guess it depends on how you donate. Here in the US we have these huge busses that go around collecting blood and giving people free movie tickets in exchange.
I'm in the UK and I get a cup of tea (obviously) and biscuits- not cookies ;) and certainly no free 'movie'!
Free film tickets would probably attract more young donors so I think that's a great idea, though I can't see it happening here.
I live in the US, and there is no such bus or free movie in my area. There are often cookies (but cookies that the British would probably call biscuits), and water. And that's usually all.
We could make printers that run on blood, but then people would start murdering people to print assignments. Imagine there being pin pricks in dead peoples necks because their blood was stolen for students printing assignments.
Guest that is partly true, the problem is that the ink cartridges that come in new printers are only about 30-50% of a replacement one. So you end up having to buy more printers. The best way to go is buy a laser printer (I never use color), it was $60 for the printer and the toner cartridges (also around $60) last for around 2000 pages
