This is wrong. So wrong. The character "Four" is a representation of his fears, his flaws that make him human. His romantic relationship with Tris symbolizes that she accepts him for these flaws and is willing to look past them to see the good in him. Four was a nickname given to him by Amar, his trainer who was Divergent. Divergence in his world represents being different from others, refusing to be categorized into restraining groups that could not possibly show a person's entire identity. Four is a cover, a cover for his defiance of the system. His true identity is Tobias Eaton, but he can't show it to anyone but Tris. It's all a cover. A cover for something bigger than anything.
