It's sad that only 15% decided to do something about it.

I want to fucking cry right now. I would fucking rip that door open. A friend of mine was almost raped but thankfully it didn't get that far. They beat up her boyfriend and everything. It makes me sick really.

OPEN THAT FUCKING DOOR. Who cares if it turns into an awkward situation if you are wrong? YOU TAKE 2 MINUTES OUT OF YOUR DAY TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS OKAY.

when i was on tumblr today there was this compilation of tweets from men about rape. They wrote stuff like if they would hear one of those whistles they would 'do the right thing' and go and help the guy to rape because the girl should be grateful because it's a compliment and they're lucky someone wants to rape them i am so fucking done
I am a teenager from the US and I can tell you that I would have immediately opened the door and/or called the police depending on if it was necessary. It makes me sick that so many of those people could just walk by. To anyone near, there were obvious sounds of struggle. You don't just walk on by! I can't understand why people could do that. They didn't do anything! If it was actually happening, The woman would have been permanently scarred-or she could have lost her life. It makes me sick.

A reality check: All you guys in the comments are saying that you would help, yet there's a reason why 85% of people didn't do anything. I'm not trying to be overly critical, but don't act like you're so above these people. Rape is a scary thing, so don't think that after watching a video, that you're somehow better than these people and are so selfless. Please don't dislike this because you don't agree with what I'm saying.

That's the thing though. I KNOW that I would at least have the human decency to open the fucking door. It's kind of the right thing to do to just check on whoever is in there.

You haven't been in that situation. You can't say you would open that door.
I am disgusted that only a small percentage of people decided to look what was happening. This almost made me cry. If I heard something like that happening I would rush over so quickly. I don't understand how anyone could just walk past.
I took a psychology class and this I think was the bystandard effect, where people will not help anyone or speak up in the presence of others because they assume the other person will attend to the situation. Like the guy in the first minute he looked like he was going to say something up until he saw a girl coming along.
