I find it annoying that people get fixated in the fact that the second lead is a man. Like, wanting an good female lead story isn't about every character being a woman or whatever.
Women are important, men *are* important. And we're bound to coexist.
These movies always show such a good relation and help coming from both sides, what's so bad about that?
The point was that she didn't need saving, she saved her father, and she melted the beasts heart. She stood up for herself, and she made the man fall in love with her just as much as her falling in love with him. Belle was as independent as they come
