This is cool, but at the same time it makes me sad that this is different enough to surprise people.

why does people from abroad think this is so special, it's basic morality. here in my country most of our school canteen/cafetaria didn't have any cashier. so if you want to buy something just take the thing you want and put your money there. it's called honesty canteen (whatever you want to call it). and most of the time we never had any case where the student or teacher didnt pay for what they took even though there's no cashier or people around. if you think this is so special maybe there's something wrong with your country society.

Pretty standard here in Canada, it's probably cause we have a way larger middle class. In amarican they are all hyper rich or ignorant and poor, very few people have normal boring lives anymore.
