Yeah but if you don't teach little kids to say sorry then how will they know what to do when they fuck up ? Not forcing them could also teach them that they don't have to own up to their actions, thus making them lack responsibility.
Not saying that this is okay, though. I'm totally against hitting children as punishment. I just take their shit until they learn their lesson.
