May i ask, out of curiosity, what makes you want to be a furry and what makes a furry (last parts because some friends of mine keep calling me a furry even though I'm not)

Being a furry or not is entirely your choice. It can be solely because you dress up in fursuits/wear ears and tails, etc.
The furry fandom is discriminated against thanks to a select few known for their infamous fetishes for bestiality. It is of course not surprising that they choose to call themselves furries, thus ruining the impression we make.
I personally enjoy roleplaying anthros and often act like a cat (I hiss and bite, unfortunately.), so I call myself a furry. I also draw my fursona in comics, not to mention I HAVE a fursona. That definitely categorizes you as a furry (atleast for me it does).
Fursonas, incase you're wondering, are animal 'avatars' that furries use to represent themselves. Mine is a cat. A fursona can be anything you want it to be: insect, avian, mammalian, reptilian, you name it. Heck, it doesn't even have to be a recognized species. I've met people who's fursonas are griffins and hell hounds, for example. As long as you're content with your ----
