Okay yes this is horrible and she needs help, BUT she could have gotten help years and years ago
I don't think it's fair for her to basically guilt people into donating when she could have gotten help long before it got to this point
But ofc I hope she gets the money and survives because it would be terrible if she died :(

She couldn't have gotten hell before this . Anorexia is a crippling disease and treatment is expensive especially in the US. She's not guilting, she's genuinely asking for help to save her life. Have a little compassion, instead of insincerely back pedaling.

And she didn't need the help "years and years ago"
Once you get it, then you know that you need the help. You can't know the future

Well I agree actually, it's not like one day you just wake up and realise oh shit I only weigh 40 pounds
And treatment for eating disorders doesn't even have to cost money sometimes
People around her should have noticed her deteriorating and gotten her the help she needs and not let her get to this point
So yeah actually she did need help years ago

Guest, my sister had had anorexia and the amount of ignorance in your comment deeply saddens me. Anorexia is a psychological condition with a high relapse rate. The brain physically and permanently changes. There is not much we can do to help someone besides provide the love and medical assistance that they need. This woman needs money to pay for the medical treatment she needs.

yeah exactly. Provide medical assistance
And clearly these 'loved ones' have not provided medical assistance
It's obvious when someone has anorexia. People don't suddenly notice when the person is literally only bones and skin
So why didn't they get her medical help before it got to this point
I just don't understand why the have waited until she is literally just bones, to get help

Because it's a psychological disease!!! Do you have any idea what it's like when your mind, the thing that is supposed to keep you alive, is the thing trying to kill you? Do you know what it feels like to wake up everyday and wish that you hadn't? You don't get to accuse people of "not getting help when they obviously need it" when you clearly have no understanding of what is going on inside. And no, these things are not always obvious. People with mental illnesses go to great lengths to hide that there is something wrong, most especially from their loved ones. Yes, maybe someone did notice- which is probably why she mentioned previous rehab facilities. And yes, it's easy to assume that if someone knows there is something wrong then all they have to do is get help- but that is not the nature of mental illness!! It takes your willpower. Would you be saying to an addict, "you should have gotten help"? Or someone who ignored other (namely physical) health problems?

Yeah actually I know exactly what an eating disorder is like considering I've experienced one myself.

Im appalled that you can even consider blaming this on her loved ones. Have you ever had a family member suffer from this or a drug problem? You can love the person to death and provide the best medical treatments but its ultimately up to that person alone to fight the good fight and get better. Maybe you are blaming her loved ones because you supposedly experienced one and want to blame your problems on your family. I cant concive anyother reason to be so heartless.

No actually I'm not taking my supposed problems out on her family. My family were amazing and that's why I wish everyone else's were as well. I'm not saying I don't care about this woman or her struggle I'm just saying that she could have (and in my option SHOULD HAVE) Gotten help sooner. And if that meant her family stepping in and forcing her to get medical help that's what should have happened
It just doesn't make sense to me how her loved ones could have watched her self destruct so badly and not force her to get help

You know chances are that she has been struggling with anorexia her entire life. Its very likely that she was forced as a teenager to go to the hospital, but theres only so much you can force an adult to do. I bet her family was doing everything they can. If you watch the video, her husband was her full time care giver and at the same time he is trying to raise money to save her life. Its not like they ignored her until she got to this horrible point
