Alan Turing, everyone (Had to learn about him from a movie!)

I learned about him from my dad and independent research. My dad is a computer science and machine learning professor at Georgia tech.

After researching about Alan and watching the movie it honestly made me really sad that we'll learn all this other shit and all these amazing people in the war, but Alan gets ignored. He deserved much more than he got.

Really? There's an entire course where we learn the Turing language in my school and we learned all about the man it was named after in class.

Geez, you guys complain about having to "learn stuff that nobody will ever use," but now you became aware of someone interesting and important because of a movie and you've got all this righteous anger. Maybe tear yourself away from social media and joke sites for an hour a day and learn things OUTSIDE of school. What was the last biography you read? The last US or world history based book? Why does your only learning have to come prepackaged from school?
