That's speed tape. It's an extremely durable aluminium tape used to make MINOR repairs before the aircraft goes for servicing. It costs hundreds to thousands of dollars per roll and is capable of expanding and contracting under extreme temperatures. Theaeroplanegirl saves the day again. The more you know.
