LEMME JUST CLEAR SOMETHING UP. I posted this, because I felt that it was appropriate due to what's currently going on in America. I'm not trying to offend religion, due to the face that I AM A BAPTIST CHRISTIAN. Christians that hate gays, suck it. God doesn't want us to hate, he said "love thy neighbor like thy love thyself". Gays who hats Christians, it's not all of us. I am a bisexual Christian and I was born this way. We need to settle our differences and realize that not everybody is a Christian and not everybody supports LGBTQ. I cannot stand when the two argue.
The problem is you don't have homosexual people telling Christians they can't worship god, that's why we argue, Christians deny us the right to be who we are constantly and sometimes violently.
See the fault in your comment? You just objectified an entire religion. I'm Christian. I am not a homophobe. I completely understand, some Christians take it WAY too far and blow the whole thing out of proportion, but you can't say that about every Christian. Maybe most of them.
so impartial 3rd party here but if you read the comments it really seems like the people for gay marriage are more belligerent and argumentative. but that's just one mans opinion...
so, seeing comments of the people who claim that god hates gays reminded me of a Russell Brand video I was watching the other day. He made the point that if god/jesus/whoever was so opposed to the notion of homosexuality then why was the whole man shall not lie with man bit one of the ten commandments? Why not put it in the one main set of rules set out for christian people? Idk I just thought twas quite an interesting point. I'm not against religion or anything, I was brought up Catholic and most of my family are quite religious. Okay I've said my bit *slowly dissipates into the shadows*
Still wrong. It's not love. It's weakness of the human flesh. God made man a companion because he said it was not good for man to be alone. He then made a woman to be his companion. If he thought it was best to have given Adam a man then he would have done so. But he didn't. For those that are "Gay Christians" it doesn't even make sense to call yourself so, because you are refuting what God says is wrong and are contradicting your beliefs. God says it is an abomination for man to lay with man. Or woman to lay with woman. So when you say fine, that's just the way I am but I won't act on it, well isn't that letting the weakness of the flesh win over your desire to serve God and live in his image as he wants us to? It's possible to be an ex homosexual. By recognizing your sin and repenting from it. Denying yourself and living for Christ. I'm not hating anyone, I think there are consequences for this and I care enough to give caution. If you want to listen then please do.I won't force you.
Listen, I do not want to offend you in any way, but love is love. Do you know what true love is? Do you know the feeling of loving someone so much, you would do anything for them? If you do, please try to understand that love is love. No matter what sex you are, female or male, if you love someone with all your heart, you belong together.
Saying that being gay is a weakness of the human flesh, shows that you own weaknesses too. Being gay is not a sin, it's not a weakness, it's not something bad. Because you love the person who you want to be with. No matter if you're a girl and you want to date a girl, or if you're a boy and you want to date a boy, no matter if you are straight and want to date people of the opposite sex. Because love wins.
what happened to love thy neighbour, or god forgives all have you forgotten the fundamentals of religion which was cooperation, belief and peace, I don't remember anyone saying Jesus preached homophobia.
Some could argue that those who follow religion and god are weak. Praying to something that may not be there because you fear the inevitability of death and are scared of what happens after you die. Religion and god can be nothing but wishful thinking for those that are scared and need a way to cope with the fact that they will die. Get over yourself. It's people like you who turn others away from you're beliefs. Maybe if religious people weren't such picks more people would be open to god. "Oh the bible says this. The bible says that" shut the fuck up and let people be who they are.
God might've said that being a homosexual is a sin, but he also said that slavery is a completely natural thing and that they shouldn't turn away from their masters. Oh and it says so in the bible. Also there are many more things that we consider "normal" that the bible rejects. Like getting tattoos, getting divorced, even wearing bling. So why do Christians still do that and say it's ok yet when it comes to homosexuality, one little "problem" they get so mad. When you weigh it down being a homosexual is one of the least of our worries. We are sinning more sins than homos. If you claim to follow the bible and follow everything, then you should hire slaves because according to the bible that's ok. But it's wrong you say? Well why were we as Christians praising when slavery was mostly abominated? We all should've been against it the same way we are against being gay. So don't claim that they're not following the bible when we're not either.
lol and there goes logic right out the window. Guess turning love wins into a slogan will make it easier for everyone willing enough to turn away from God and just follow the crowd.
Didn't God say to "love thy neighbor"? Why would God have created homosexuals if he wasn't okay with it? People should have every right to fall in love and be married. You have the right, why shouldn't they? The only consequence I can see is ignorant human hatred. Personally, I think it's really sad to fall in love with someone's genitals over someone's soul. If you knew what it was truly like to love someone so much that it was unconditional, the way God had intended, then maybe you would understand.
(Not original guest) I agree with what you are saying, and I'm a Christian myself. Tho I am not gay, my friend is and she's an amazing person, super nice and energetic, she was one of my best friends. She became depressed when the Christian school she went to started treating her horribly and she felt different and unwanted. Than eventually people just forgot about it, treated her like everyone else, and she even got a girl friend for a little while :3. Yes, god says that homosexuality is a sin, and no he did not create it btw it spawned from human free wil, but he also says that all sin is equal, and as long as you believe in god you go to heaven. In my eyes being a homo is just another act of human free will, that isnt something we should be attacking. We should love and accept them for who they are and if they believe in god they go to heaven. It's as simple as that.
