^this is a bunch of crap. I am NOT a fan of walmart. But im even less of a fan of people feeling they need to tarnish business reputations. Bottled water represents .02% of water usage. There are many water plants i Ca. Walmart represents 10% of one companies water harvesting. Long story made short, walmart represents about .0002% of water usage in CA. And most of that is sold back to Californians because shipping watter is very expensive. And the 600x profit? ? Really!? People that patition this crap should be put in jail.
If you want to be more convincing you should show pictures from more than just that one lake. (I agree that the droughts are terrible, just thinking critically)
If this isn't convincing enough for you then you're exactly like ignorant Californians that continue to water their driveways. How can this terrible time lapse, of just 3 years btw, NOT be convincing enough. I see photos like this everyday on Facebook and it scares the shit out of me. I live in Southern California and this drought is no joke and is the worst the state has ever seen. I live in a city with the highest water rates in the country and we are facing our rates to triple if water isn't cut back by at least 32%. We are only allowed to water our yards two days a week. If you are seen "wasting" water in any way you will be fined. Lawns are brown, trees are dieing; this is a serious crisis and it's because people like you, that "need more convincing" that our reservoirs are nearly empty in such a short amount of time. (Not attacking you. Just trying to really express how serious this is as bluntly as possible)
Jim, i agree with you completely. I undsrstand that the drought is awful. But images of one lake is not evidence of a drought when thinking critically. It suggests that the OP was attempting to use the worst evidence to generalize the whole area.
Come move here, bruh, if you want first hand experience. =.=
Where I live is mostly agriculture and now that water is at an all time low, nearly half of the community needs water to be taken to them via trucks cause we need to preserve the crops.
"I understand that the drought is awful".... Bruh, i get it. I wasnt suggesting that its not bad. Im just suggesting that if someone attempts to make is appear worse, they can loos credibility.
Sign petitions might help but I'm not sure if it'll truly help all the way. They are limiting the people's consumption of it which isn't the real problem. Agriculture, pastures, farming, and bottling water is causing the drought. The government is not going to limit them these sectors have a lot of power.
I'm a Californian and as far as I can tell we haven't received our yearly quota of rain in the last few years. Also our suburban areas use just as much as any other suburb.
1. California is one of the world's leading food baskets. Need a lot of water to make all this food.
2. Mostly being screwed by Mother Nature for the past 3 years
