I don't understand those people who believe in one thing only either religion or science, you know you can believe in both God and science. It's the same as loving both tea and coffe, there is nothing wrong with that!
My personal believe is that God created science and evolution and stuff like that. Like
God: hey little fishy thing. You want to go on land? BOOM! Now you can adapt. Take those wimpy little legs of yours and pull yourself ashore. Whats that little horse? You want toe instead of three? BOOM! Over time they're gonna merge together. Go do whatver one toed horses do
God: fuck yea. Science.
Ah, but why do you believe that? The Holy Bible mentions nothing about onwards and upwards evolution, but states that God made the earth in six literal days, animals on days 5 and 6. And its genealogies indicate that the earth is only ~6000 years old.

I believe kinda both of what you said. I don't believe in evolution (man-from-apes and etc) but I think adaptation is definitely a thing, like how species change over time to survive easier. I believe God did create everything like Sublime pointed out but Tara made some points too that could be true. I'm leaning towards Sublime on this one, but each to his own, right? You do you.
Yep, as a Young Earth Creationist I do believe in 'micro-evolution', changes within the kind of animal (eg dalmations vs chihuauas), but I do not believe in all other definitions of evolution, including those indicating ape-to-man, the Big Bang, etc.

God and science is like tea and coffee? I can't understand how anybody would say anything as random and meaningless as this, unless he had no idea of what science is at all. The concept of any kind of religion is some guy making something up to explain phenomenons and telling you to believe it. If you do, you're on his side, if not, you're a heretic at best and normally his enemy. What he says cannot be verified nor falsified. A scientist would set up a theory and explain how he came to it. He would use standard rules and procedures, to enable anybody who knows these rules to reproduce his results OR falsify his theory. So he would basically ask the scientific community to prove him wrong by any means (peer review).
Science and religion are two completely different things... You can't really compare them. You can believe in god and simultaneously be a great scientist. You can also be an atheist and be an ignorant fool like guest.
Guest, I know what is science, I'm a religious muslim and in the same time I am studying computer engineering which includes physics and math, and do you know what my God order us? He orders us to study and gain knowledge to build up the world and to understande the book of Quran. This is my religion it orders me not to be ignorant. And when I said coffe and tea, they were used to simplify and clarify my talk, they're called "examples", because there are different people with different minds so I should say something that they can all understand.
And I believe that atheism and macro-evolution are religions totally unrelated to Science (testable, observable, repeatable).

I'm just saying what I think here, but as a reply to the first comment on this chain thing, even though I can't see God or hear God, it's called faith for a reason. I can't necessarily see God but I feel him in my heart. Just this feeling of joy deep in you that nothing can overcome. I mean, I'm just saying what I think here, but this whole post is about opinions, so here's mine:)
As Richard Dawkins put it: you can start equating religion and science once somebody finds the face of Christopher Hitchen burned on a slice of toast and people start worshipping it. A concept of god is not needed to explain what there is for us to explain. Anybody believing in a creator or creation just stops inquiring when it comes to the question who/what created the creator, so this is just meaningless.
Ah, but anybody believing in no creator (atheists) (usually a believer of the Big Bang) stops inquiring when it comes to the question of where the universe came from. (Where did the infinitesimally small dot of matter and energy come from?)

Sublimegamer (btw: lol): Really? Kent flippin Hovind? There is more science in any given episode of Sponge Bob than in any of his bullshit. The only science he ever mastered was smurfin money, and he got his ass jailed for that.
Space surfer, I know what an example is, and yours was crap. So you study computer engineering and believe in Allah? Thats proving what exactly? When you come up with an example like the tea and coffee crap, its clear you have no fucking clue whatsoever what science is.
Also as an atheist I can live with the fact, that I cannot explain everything, and its likely nobody will ever be able to. Its the religious nuts who need to come up with the answer to everything.
Maybe ramadan got you dehydrated, then it should be getting better from now on. You just shutting up would be a hint to that.
You just want to argue right?! What I mean is anybody can be religious and scientist at the same time you don't have to choose only one of them! If you can't understand this I'm sorry but there is something wrong with you! And as a muslim I know and I've learned that we cannot explain everything! And what I've learned from my religion too, is when someone using high tone and lowly words that means they're trying to cover their weak argument!
BTW guest, I won't fight anti-creationists like you. I'm merely putting these links up here for people who are generally curious about the origins of the Earth, some of whom may be evolutionists, so they can see both sides of the argument.
BTW if you were talking about me, I don't study computer engineering.
Old comment: and I don't believe in Allah, but rather the God of Abraham, Isaac and David, as stated in the Holy Bible. Edit: Nevermind, Allah (Arabic) and Elohim (Hebrew) are other words for god/gods.
The Christian and Islamic gods are two different gods/beliefs. Not the same at all. Christians and Jews worship the same God but Muslims worship their own entity.
Uhm...

Which leads me to a point: if Evolution is real and there is no God, life has no purpose. You also cannot tell right from wrong. EVOLUTION IS DANGEROUS.
https://youtu.be/WN31FCcUlLk
However, if there is a God (which there is), you'd better find out who he is and what he wants.
Life HAS no purpose, except to precreate. The idea it had a purpose from our point of view ist just extreme megalomania. Also "telling wrong from right", meaning a sense of living in communities and to behave socially is something evolution made us do. Most everything we like to call moral and ethics is present in various stages of animal life. All that evolution added to make us human beings is the ability to reflect. Men lived as sovial beings long before there was any idea of gods.
If there is a god and and afterlife (which there both aint) and he is mad at me for not believing in him and he throws me in a heavenly gulag or shit, he is as much a dick as a guy like Kim Jong Un. Fuck him then! But if he is really that powerful and mighty, he should be a pretty relaxed dude. So its going to be cool. No worries here!
why should scientist care if there's a God or not? you don't believe there is one, that's cool, but don't base your life trying to prove there isn't one when science isn't about that. I'm not a huge fan of science, partly because I'm Christian, but I would never belittle someone who is. just like scientist or atheist (not that they are in common) shouldn't deprecate someone's chosen religion.
