Actually ,Christ was born around the mid of the year, but because the Church wanted to catch more people they officially changed it's day to what we know today, to celebrate it at the same time as other non-religious celebrations. That's why most of the stuff is actually not from religion.
What's the point of an Atheist celebrating a holiday in it with a person they don't believe existed?

The spirit and intent of the holiday is what matters. To me Christmas is about family being together and being generous to others.
To me Valentines Day is about showing your significant other how much you appreciate them
Christmas was invented as a way to celebrate the birth of Christ though, granted that it also means spending time with ur family and all that

Ya except all of the "Christmas" traditions were stolen from the pagan holiday Saturnalia, which celebrated the winter solstice. If you celebrate Christmas without anything religious involved the you're actually celebrating the ORIGINAL holiday, Saturnalia
To me Valentines Day is about showing your significant other how much you appreciate them
