seriously? I can't believe the majority of people don't realise this...

This is why it's important to specify units of measurement...
I was tutoring this kid, and he was trying to answer the question, "Why are units important?" Me: "Well, if you were going to bake a cake, how much flour would you use?" Him: "2" Me: "2 what?" Him: "I don't know." *facepalm* ... I wish I was making that up.

Actually, they have tested this. It's not minutes. Every manufacturer has a different "timing" setting. For instance 2 on my toaster is one minute and twenty-five seconds.

I tried this, it is how dark it is not minutes *facepalm*

Mine is certainly not minutes...it's degree of toastyness.

Isn't it more or less the same thing? The longer the bread stays in the toaster, the darker it gets..

I though nothing of the numbers 'till now

I sell toasters and I didn't know this.. Granted there isn't that much to know about toasters
