I have an iPod, an iPhone, and a MacBook Pro. I've gone through one Apple cord due to this issue... and another after accidentally vacuuming it up, lol. Rather than pay the $239,496 for another cord, I bought the $3 Wal-Mart ones which work just as well. :)
I'm not an Apple fanboy (or whatever we're called these days), I just think they're all fairly decent products. Also, my first experiences in learning how to use a computer primarily first came on a Mac. I feel more comfortable with Apple's OS, rather than Windows. Naturally, both Apple and Windows have pros and cons. (and I'm aware that the post was not intended to open a Mac vs. Windows debate - just sharing my experience.) :)
If you have tried both and just prefer apple, that's fine. It's a personal preference. If you're one of those people who think apple is the best thing ever and will give bs reasons why and generally be stupid, then that's where we have a problem
Those types of people are irrational, or just immature. :/ To suggest that ANY competitor makes an absolute horrible product to me, is rare. Windows machines obviously work great - their sales prove it. No collection of people would buy a product continually if it was garbage.
I would not say microsofts sales are nessisarly indicitive of a quality product alot of people use windows because there is no choice if your a gamer you either have to fiddle with wine on linux or boot camp on mac to play most games and when you can pick between dealing with either of those or just paying the 120$ extra to get a machine running window there really isnt much of a choice. ive personaly used windows for the better part of a decade and the only reason i still use it is because linux and gaming even with valves help still get along about as well as microsoft and competiton
Technically Apple's are made a lot better. They normally emit more power and are better for the batteries. Anything OEM generally is. If you read articles on the inner workings of the Apple cables and power pieces. It's quite advanced. Cheap ones are not made to handle higher power coming through. The pin configuration as well is not always made properly which can ruin your charging port. I only have an iPad but this is coming from someone that took many trainings from Apple and managed cell phone stores/sold phones for years. A very good charging product brand is Ventev. They offer a lifetime warranty and their cables are amazing. Flat so it doesn't tangle, and they offer 6ft options.
They don't fray if you grap it by the plastic rectangle part. It's pulling by the cord that frays them, as the rubber covering gets pulled back and eventually exposes the wires
Because it's APPLE. You payed for the "NAME", not quality. They don't feel they need to tie up loose ends. Slap it together, as cheap as possible. Mark up the prices on it, because it's APPLE of course. HUGE PROFITS!!!
