Fun fact: Elsa was originally supposed to be evil and Hans would be the one to stop her but then 'Let it Go' was written and the producers thought it was a more of a pick-me-up song than an evil villain song so halfway through the movie they changed Hans entire character to put him as the villain instead. That's why we see such a drastic personality change.

Maybe he's admiring her "personality."

Hans never said he wanted to kill Ana he said he wanted to be a king the problem was Elsa just the easiest way to get rid of Elsa also hurt Ana

I think it was more of a smug "This idiot is mine" kinda smile

That is the. 'I've been holding it in for a while and I just peed in the water smile.'

I will entertain the theory that he at the very least liked Ana, until she met the trolls. The phrase "this alleged engagement is a flex arrangement" always made me think they did some weird kind of magic in order to keep Ana from leaving Hans.

He's like, I know she's only a part of my evil plan, but she is kinda adorable.

I guess he actually liked her, he just decided to take advantage of the entire situation.
