Someone finally said it! I went to a hippie school with tons of drugs and while I was offered drugs numerous times, when I declined they were all "okay, cool. You do you"
but even in the event someone else got it, its a free commodity so you;re still going to treat it as if it has value. its like if you buy donuts one day, and someone gives you one the next day, you are not more likely to give away that donut because you didnt pay for it. hell everyone knows free food tastes even better, and i bet drugs work the same way.
There's not as much pressure as they make it seem, but I have had someone try to pressure me before. You just have to stay firm with No and they'll stop. You never have to.
I don't mean to sound mean, but the truth is the only pressure that exists in high school related to doing drugs and drinking is the pressure you PUT on yourself to ''be cool'' and to have people accept you! Your REAL friends wil be okay with you not drinking or smoking.
Agreed. Depending on who you interact with, there may or not be pressure, but just because you do not experience it, it doesn't mean it's not there. For example, at my high school, my so-called "friends" at the time made me feel inferior for my choice not to drink or party as they did, and attempted to pressure me into doing so. So yes, there definitely CAN BE pressure. Again though, not ALWAYS.
How? Unless they forced you to buy some or they were nice enough to give you their alcohol, what kind of pressure did you feel? Just tell them you can be their DD. Problem solved.
There is pressure. Don't lie.
