FIRST
In Spanish French fries are 'papitas fritas' and potato chips are 'papitas' but either one can be just called 'papitas.' I understand your pain.

I sometimes call them hot chips and "crisps" I sometimes refer to as Smith's because that's the most well-known brand of chips in Australia.

in Australia you can also call the ones on the left hot chips but they are mostly just called chips.
