She wasn't on his team, that's a place for especial achievements in Quidditch. McGonagall was a teacher of James, she couldn't have possibly been on his team since she is much older.

If you read on Pottermore it says that she was great at quidditch player, it also says that Dumbledore was her transfiguration teacher.
