Back to fungus's point. They are making a sequel to Alice in Wonderland (through the looking glass) not Willy Wonka.
But that just serves to prove that all of Depp's zany characters are now basically indistinguishable from each other.

I Love Johnny Depp as an actor but i loved Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka infinitely more and i do agree that he had a natural feel to the role ,to this day i prefer Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory to Charlie and the chocolate factory
