I used to think it meant there was a divorce, so they were removed... But now I'm clueless

Basically it's the children of your first, second cousins etc...twice removed is basically the children of your once removed cousin...and so on

So its like you have first cousin, but then also another first cousin, but not the one from an uncle or aunt...I kind of get it now. Though I wanna call them great cousins. Once removed sounds disowny
