My dog knows the exact turn during the car ride to know he's going to the vet. He'll start whimpering as we get to the intersection and then just starts whining loudly as soon as we turn on the street. He'll get up and start pacing in the back seat until we get there.

Well I think that when he's getting a car ride then he generally knows he's going to the vet. But thats not always the case. So he waits for that specific turn before he starts crying because then he definitely knows he's going to the vet.
