The society I live in is so different from what she described. Maybe you should just hang out with different people.

I always thing the same thing!!!
Like. Really, choose the people around you. If they are mean, really, dont even listen, why let it get to you?

I live in a pretty wealthy, safe environment yet I've had to deal with some of these comments, because sometimes you can't choose who you have around you and it's easier said than done to ignore such comments on your personality...
Be careful with belittling things.

I think the crying = weak stereotype mostly applies to men.

underyourbed · 9 years ago
It pretty much does
Women are just labeled emotional when they cry but men get bullied and teased for even making a sniffle

Does anyone else get afraid to open the comments on videos like this?

...and then reads the comments, suppresses the urge to reply to the assholes, close tabs and swears to not open the comments again in videos like this? Yep that's me.

This has nothing to do with this post. But. Guys. What does the upsidedown red triangle next to a comment mean?

Be the change you wish to see, women have a right to live as comfortably and freely in this culture as men.

Who is doing the labeling? I've been most of these things at one point or another in my life and I've never been called those things. Not that I remember anyway. Sometimes I wonder if we as women end up perpetuating these stereotypes through our insistence that "society" labels us as such.

Just because it's doesn't happend to you it doesn't mean that it's a fake "pity me" charade. But if a woman experience these things she best find some better people to hang around. Like how you chose to be around people who will never say something like that to you. Oh, I would like to see one video like this talking about guy stereotypes also. I mean, it's not often you see a video about how a man gets showed into a box right?

I didn't say it was fake. I just think that sometimes we make it worse. And I agree that finding better people to be around is often the solution.

It's cool. It's easy to be misunderstood on the internet.

I'll take the opinions across tens of hundreds of people and express it as the most common opinions, this'll work fucking great. And women have created these stereotypes too, it's not like 12 men sitting in a round table planning what box they should stick women it, you buttercup
▼
bingbangwala · 9 years ago
No it's not 12 men.....its hundreds of thousands of men over hundreds of years, spanning thousands of cultures. It's a continual and systematic wave of oppression being handed down generation after generation. Women participate.....because a lot of them believe it's their only option. When more voices like this are heard, more women will opt out of perpetuating the stereotypes forced on them

Where is the opression here though?

If you have to ask that question you don't have enough sense to understand my answer. Do some research and get with the programme.

If you can't answer a simple question, you don't understand the problem you're talking about

bingbangwala · 9 years ago
It's not that I can't, it's that I can't be assed reiterating the same shit over and over to lazy morons who think there ser cool for trying to break down feminisim. Basically I got better shit to do than school your boring ass.

> Don't know what to say
> Insult opponents
> Wins argument
That's why so many people don't respect feminists.
bingbangwala · 9 years ago
acutally the majority of ppl in society respect feminism, it's the Internet that's skewed. Like I said, but you obiviously didn't read, I'm not here to school you, if you don't get it do your own research. If I genuinely thought you were wanting to learn or gave a shit I would spend some time helping, but you guys arnt here for that are you?
