Sure they were "cool and laughing" in the moment, they were insanely relieved that the horrors they had just been through were over! This type of event is probably going to leave life long mental scars. This was utterly terrifying to them and no laughing matter.
This had better been staged and faked, because if it's not, the people behind it all have clearly lost their humanity and common sens.
That is SO Evil! Can you imagine? They might have been thinking that perhaps they were really dying and their brain was allowing them to believe that they were still screaming but the people couldn't actually hear them or see them moving.
