... Or, you know, FAFSA if you are classified as "low income". Depending on where you live in the U.S., it can pay either everything, or a good part of your education so long as you keep the minimum requirements.

Thats why after getting my college payed for I stayed in. The idea of an office job makes me cringe.
Like loveless mentioned. I often think that. I used financial aid. If you really have low income you qualify. Mine was a long story and difficult but I was able at the end to go to college with grants thanks to fafsa and grad school with loans. Sometimes is not easy and yes paying back the loan sucks but it's done. I'm a professional doing what I like and they gave me a good payment plan. And I came to this country at 17 (USA) I often think would have been easier knowing more about taking college credits while in high school or applying for scholarships. Take it from one of the oldies in this site kids. Enjoy your youth but also plan for the future! It pays off. Not only money but peace of mind and you can actually enjoy your adulthood too
I came when I was around 16ish too. I spent around 6 months not knowing what to do (I had already graduated HS back in my country); eventually, I went back to high school and graduated (again) within 12 weeks (the first 6 weeks or so were spent sorting out the paperwork from my country, really). I went to talk to the school adviser and she told me to apply to fafsa, even if my mom had been working just a few months since we had just come from another country. I went to a community college for a bit, and then transferred to a 4-year university. I've kept my grants and some scholarships (after several mental breakdowns), and so far it's paid off mostly everything, for which I'll be forever thankful.
I'll say taking AP classes doesn't hurt, but going to college can also be an enlightening experience (plus is cheaper if you take your basics there too)
