its not going to be a dislike button thats just what all the news stories wrote for headlines to get you to click, its going to be a sympathy button, and i don't think it will be a default button, more like something you can add when you post something that would make more sense to sympathize too than like (ie "RIP ron's mother, my mother in law, she was a strong beautiful heart and will be missed")

Riiiiiight so the news said dislike but youre saying sympathy... wheres your source id like to check it out
did you READ any of the news articles? nearly every one opens with calling it a dislike then once you stay on the page long enough to count it goes on to describe it.

"Some people have asked for a dislike button because they want to say, 'That thing isn't good.' And that’s not something that we think is good for the world. So we’re not going to build that," Zuckerberg said at the time.

Though he made it clear that the new, more empathetic button would not say "dislike," people are calling it exactly that -- and they can't wait to get it.

The exact form a “Dislike” button may take is still up in the air. “What [users] really want is the ability to express empathy,” Zuckerberg added. “Not every moment is a good moment

“I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years,” Zuckerberg said. “Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we’re working on it and shipping it.”

if you piece all his words together its very clear that it will not be an actual dislike button, it will be a manner of expressing sympathy, empathy, or other emotion that is NOT like but not a dislike like a downvote.
Who says you're not depressed if you post about it on Facebook? Sure, that's probably not the best thing to do and it might come off as/be attention seeking, but that doesn't mean you don't actually have depression.
honestly a person who is just that depressed *is* going to be attention seeking in the worst stages because they are begging for help. i hate this notion everyone wants to support that depressed people need to just be quiet about it. someone crying on fb might just be a normal person crying for attention, or it could be someone in the last stages of depression begging for someone to drag them up before they drown in it.

Never anything about posting about being depressed
