If it has an option so that you can't turn it off until a set time, then it would have a point.

I've used this before and it doesn't turn off until the time runs out.

Doesn't turn off if you restart your computer or delete the program either. But iirc it only works on macs

The name is a funny misnomer though :) "self control" means you're doing it of your own free will but it's actually forcing you to not visit those sites
