If you can hold off the nervous sweats until it dries and you can apply sugar water, you're golden. Also, the bride's henna is usually much more intricate than this so the actual hand part is way past dry by the time it's finished. :)
But... black... agh. The black generally causes a reaction for most skin types (if you don't make your own, that is, and instead buy it). The brown is muuuch better.

Oh I read your question in the wrong context. I thought you were wondering if it's actual henna (because it's black) never mind haha. Yeah it's mendhi where I come from (India) but henna is just the English word for it, like how sabsi = vegetable
