I don't think people in hetero relationships understand that typically the stereotypical gender roles are kinda just spread evenly across the two. E.g. If I'm with a girl I refuse to be the designated spider squasher, but I'm all good with opening being the big spoon.

Nah I'm just explaining the meaning of the question. Traditionally the woman takes the 'submissive' role yada yada

But there IS a difference between genders. The reason you see males (in most instances) bringing in the higher paycheck, is because they work more hours per week. The reason for this is that the female of the house is (in most instances) the caretaker of the children. This isn't to say one gender is better than the other, but rather to say that gender roles DO exist, and they exist for a reason (in most instances).

Except there's almost always a feminine one and a masculine one. In this case, Ellen is the masculine one and Portia is the feminine one. I had neighbors and I didn't know they were a lesbian couple until spring and the sweaters and coats came off. I thought they were man and women.
