Dogs are one of the only (if not the only) species that evolved alongside humans, that's why they are more tuned into us than say, apes. Understanding humans pointing things out served no evolutionary purpose to primates. Try it with your dog, it really works!

I call bullshit. My duck is perfectly capable of finding something after I've pointed it out to her. Much better at it than any of my dogs, actually.
