It would be nice at least if pregnancy actually meant skipping periods, but it can take weeks after labor to bleed out all the extra crap you needed for the baby. YOU JUST STORE 9 MONTHS OF PERIOD.

What happens before your period is your uterus prepares for a baby, building up the walls of the uterus. If you're pregnant, there is no need to prepare. If '9 months of period' stored up, that amount of blood would take up a lot of room in your uterus. Once you're pregnant, the placenta is formed, and usually it's expelled from the body after a woman is giving birth. Maybe you're thinking of that, but a woman doesn't bleed for weeks due to built up period...
