the animals slaughtered for selling in stores is usually killed humanely. whilst hunters aren't under any law to kill the animal in specific ways that would not harm it before death (correct me if I'm wrong with the second half because I'm not entirely sure).
Maybe they are slaughtered "humanely" whatever that means, but its pretty, pretty sure that the life they lead before getting killed was utterly dreadful, being caged in a minimum space required by law. A wild animal lives the best life it can possibly lead and then its killed. Could not get any better, except maybe for not being killed. At least in europe its also regulated how a hunter can kill an animal, and it needs to be very quick, thats why too little caliber rifles or (cross)bows are prohibited. I don't know the US laws, but regarding the life before getting killed its surely not much different from europe there.
Also, this posting is clearly a hoax in the first place, I have seen variations of that >20 years ago. Its the same sort of public dad joke like when people demand the daylight saving time banned as the extra hour of sunshine would accelerate the global warming.
One- there's a limit to how many animals you can kill and 90% of the time you don't even see anything; you actually get something once or twice a season for larger/mid sized game such as deer. The game hunted for food are wild, they are cage free and live their lives out before hunted. You wouldn't hunt a baby deer, you wait till they're fully grown and lived out their life before you consider that. And honestly, I'd rather eat something that lived the way it wanted to instead of something that was born into and died in a cage.
And for the humane stuff..you practice and make sure you're accurate and will have a clean shot before you hunt. You aim to kill the first time not injure them and make them have a long death. In my opinion it is humane if you do it right but everyone's different.
Just putting this out there.
