I would hate my parents if they bought me an apple because i think they would know not to buy me fruit when I asked for a computer.

Mine boots up about ten times faster than a pc. It doesn't crash like a pc either.

It takes our Mac an hour to be functional, and it spends so much time frozen I've given up

That's terrible. The poor thing needs to be wiped clean and have the OS reinstalled.
