Technically it takes anywhere from 4 to 7000 years for the light of a star to reach Earth.

It could take much longer than 7000 years, considering how far the majority of stars are, as well as the expansion of space between them and Earth.

Then there's the stars whose light will NEVER reach us because of the expansion of space.

It could take longer, but we cant actually see it by the naked eye, which is what this picture is inferring. There are many stars that are really far away, but we cant see them. My first comment was referring to the naked eye.
