i mean, she isnt really, at least not from a legal standpoint, but you sign a legal contract to abide by her ruling when you go on the show...

Dude, she has been a legally operating judge since 1982. She passed the bar exam in 1965. She is a judge by legal standpoint

she may have been a judge, but on the show she is not acting as one. whats happening on her show is called arbitration.
