i used to peel my apples. i think switching to a better tasting apple is the only reason i stopped. honeycrisp cost too much but at least i do not have to fight myself to eat them
They must be a lot better where you live because they are the worst ones where I am. The texture is all icky.

Gotta get fresh Wenatchee ones. To die for. Honestly though, only apples I don't care for are Granny Smiths. Apples are the most perfect fruit.

I am not driving five hours just to get fresh apples.

It's worth it. Go camping with your family at Lincoln Rock State Park and get some from the produce stands. Seriously do it next fall, late Sept thru October is the best time.

That actually sounds really fun. We'd have to put more money into our vacation budget though and it's already stretched from an extra camping trip to fort Stevens. And I just realized that my oldest might be in school then and now I feel old! Aaahh.
i miss living up north cuz we'd fill several bags of apples up at the orchard and keep them in the basement all winter and have crisp delicious apples for half the year. like no part of that sentence is possible in florida.
