They can though. I once designed a gaming computer with the best parts i could find and it would have cost around $5000. The cpu alone was $1000

Although it wasnt just on the computer itself. I ordered about $4000 for parts for the computer, i have 2 large speakers For left/right audio. One 4k monitor and a tv sitting above the 4k monitor.

I just like having good quality sound, playing horror games with the lights off and the speakers loud is amazing.

Only triple a games coat that much most games I've bought in the past few months cost about £20-£30
