A lot of people have said bad things about the girl who reacted negatively to it but people don't realize she's probably been hurt so many times the slightest compliment she takes as an insult

Agreed...i mean, to be hurt in such a way that you dont think someone could even be genuine with you is honestly so sad, its a horrible thing to feel.
