When I was little, my brother and I brought a mantis egg sack into the house, awhile later they hatched and we had countless babies everywhere. It was awesome.

One summer I ordered 6 mantis egg cases online and hatched them in a terrarium. I guess I didn't have enough fruit flies for them because all but 3 of them ate each other and survived long enough to molt once, and then the largest of those 3 ate the other two. And that's the one I had as a pet, until the end of the season when I released it so it would have a chance to breed. I named it H.G. Wells because they look like they could be aliens. It used to sit on my shoulder and watch TV with me.
