i feel like once the decision to shit there has been made you're probably stuck whether it flushes or not.

That's terrible advice. A lot of the time there will be water in the top tank (one flush) after the service is cut off. So this is dooming people to intentionally throw away their one chance.

i would also add in that as long as there is running water you can make that bitch flush by pouring it in.

Just take the top of the toilet off of the back thing and pull the chain. That's what makes the toliet flush. Sometimes it's just because the handle is disconnected from the chain somehow and that's why it won't flush.
