Suffering is relative. I'm not saying they didn't have it worse than most people do today, but that doesn't negate the problems people have now. Compared to other issues in history, you could say that what happened to them wasn't a big deal.
Take some perspective from this and be grateful for what you do have, but you telling yourself that you can't be unhappy because someone has it worse doesn't change a goddamn thing for either of you.
You cannot compare to completely different things in history and say one was worse then the other because none of us lived in those times, sure there's facts and information about these moments in history but until you live these things or even know someone that's been through something like this we are not allowed to compare. Because the information we get can make it seem much better or much worse than it really is.
if this was the concentration camps in germany, then they are either about to be letout of they are forced to smile and wave at gunpoint
just so ya know
In this picture this group of people thought they were being saved, that's why they are so happy, when really they were headed for starving to death, gas boxes, torchere, hanging, murder and piles of burned and dead bodies everywhere.
Take some perspective from this and be grateful for what you do have, but you telling yourself that you can't be unhappy because someone has it worse doesn't change a goddamn thing for either of you.
