I tried to do something where the reader has a second life they're not aware of and has some romantic tension with another character, but that started to fall apart when I tried to write for every possible orientation of the potential audience. So yeah, if anyone wants to write this, pro tip: stick to one hypothetical audience member. Your work might not have the same feel for other people, but a book that's really good to only a few people is better than a book that's mediocre to everyone.
I need the book version of them. The officially, commonly published, so the world could feel what does it mean by slwly falling in love with someone that doesn't exist, and your beloved is a character of a book, while you are a real person
