Depends on where you are in Aus. It's still legal in the Northern Territory on 'Territory Day', but illegal to have fireworks any other day of the year.

I live in Illinois and we set off fireworks all the time. They're definitely not illegal

......yes they are. The only fireworks you can buy are the little kid ones at Walmart or jewel. Hence why people travel to Indiana to buy fireworks.

They aren't illegal where I live in Canada. And we haven't had any accidents that I can recall. Although I haven't heard about last night yet so we'll see

Where i live its illegal to have aerial fireworks but we have them anyways. One year we thought we bought a fountain firework which actually ended up being a bunch of different types of fireworks all packed into a hexagon of hell. It blew over and i got hit in the head by an aerial before it palmed out. When it did palm i got hit another time which lit my sweatshirt on fire and my hair. It didn't occur to me until the searing pain that my ear was charred. Out of the 20 people there i was the only one that got hit. Everyone laughed at me. It was fun.
