No! You are not the only one. I don't know what's worse, though; those types or the ones with the Bluetooth earpieces and you have no idea if they're talking to you or not!

This is why everyone needs to be using it like an ear piece with pressing it to talk.

I would love an earpiece where you have to press it to talk, and otherwise it'd be muted on your end, cause then while the other person is talking, I could eat fooooood.
With only a few exceptions. For example: I called my brother who was out with my mom at the time (he was the one that was reliable to answer) and told him to put it on speaker phone so they both could hear. And I told them that I got accepted to college. It was a relatively short call, but I think those small ones that are highly important and shared with multiple people are okay
And then they talk really loud and forceful so that EVERYONE can hear them so well and when you comment on it, they feel YOU were rude for listening in.
Problem.
