Your hips do not contract. That is not why you get back cramps.

Do your hips expand during actual labor?

Pelvis opens yes and therefore hips move (during labor)so i would not be surprised if the sacrum becomes lax (the ligaments) and that is one of the reasons for pain during menstruation.

You can experience back pain during labor based on how the baby is positioned. But it's common. Your body during menstrutation is very much like your body during most of pregnancy. Muscle pain, mood swings, cramps (yes, cramps happen in pregnancy), and pelvic pain. Most is due to hormones.

If nothing else in that mess tips you off, the repeated usage of "so basically" is generally not a sign that reliable education has been completed.

If you haven't actually gone through actual labor, stfu. It's no where near having menstrual cramps. Imagine this tiny little baby trying to force its way out, whether you're prepared or not.

I am sure. But menstrual cramps are painful and back pain is real for some women because the body goes through some of the same hormonal changes. But i agree wuth you. If you haven't had a baby you do not know strong pain. It is said it is equal as braking many bones at the same time. I haven't had kids yet but i respect mothers A LOT!

I've gone through labor, but it was no where near as bad as full on labor. I was 8 weeks pregnant and the baby was 7 and a half. I was technically in labor for about 23 hours. Even though it wasn't as bad as a full baby, it was horrible.
