I have a few friends who wear it soley because they like to, I personally don't bother because acne but it makes me feel nice so I wear it around the house sometimes.
I think that many times, people think that women wear makeup to impress and "sell" themselves to men (which is sometimes though not often true), but more women wear it because they thing that they look better and it may give them confidence or it just makes them feel better about themselves.
My favorite things to do are to do big crazy dramatic makeup looks. Then, looking like a real painted whore I sit around in my Pjs eating. Makeup is fun. It's like art. Sure you can use it to sell but it's just fun to do.
Funny story: I wear makeup because my job requires that I look professional and I do so to set a good example for my subordinates. I've put on makeup and heels every single day for the last ten years and you can be sure, there's not a man in the world that made me do it or made it worthwhile.
A) the owners dont know the first thing about makeup
B) they don't have to ask me to do that, I show up looking put together out of my own sense of dignity and professionalism.
That's the point. I wear makeup because I know I look more like a professional adult and less like an elderly drug addict with it on. Not to sell anything. Get it?
Ok first of all I read your comment wrong and thought you said your job requires it. Second you don't have to be snobbish about it and downvote my comments. You should show just a bit of that dignity and professionalism here
Honey when I said I was dignified and professional, I meant it. You haven't seen me snobbish and I most certainly didn't downvote you. I haven't had a problem with anything you've said.
There are many women who don't wear makeup for other people, honestly. There are still many others who will, but that's not all girls. Some girls also prefer not to wear makeup, like me. Not everyone is the same :/
Men who complain about women wearing make up need to calm themselves. You know I'm wearing make up. I don't naturally have a black line around my eyes. No one's lips are that shade of red.
However, you're talking to me and not giving the time of day to the girl over there wearing no cosmetics... so whose fault is that.
So lesbians might not say or think the same. Or women who don't wear makeup? You can't tell by the post if it is a man or a woman. So it's best to not assume.
it's a complaint I've heard mostly from the male gender, and I spend a lot of time around other females who don't much care for makeup and/or are gay.

I'm a woman who doesn't wear makeup and I've never said this about women who do. So no this is not a woman complaining. I have however seen multiple men use this complaint or a variation of it.
You can't speak for every woman though. I'm not saying it's definitely not a man BUT I am saying you can't know for sure. That's the same as me saying I am a man and I do not say that about women so it's definitely not a man
we are going with until proven otherwise the usual majority for ease of referencing the person using he/she, since using they or them can get confusing I have a character who lacks gender/sex and we still had to decide to use he/she since they/them gets very confusing and using the name instead can get irritating.
they speak a lot, so constantly having to say "words" so-and-so said is a bother during conversations, instead of the normal he/she said/shot/growled/muttered and so on I have to specify the name or say they/them
You want to know the big kicker? On this post the person talking is open quoting so I'm still pretttttttty sure it's not a guy.

Well you said women who don't wear make up, as one I proved not all of us say shit like that. While I don't think that most dudes say stuff like this, I do know that butthurt immature dudes do. Just like immature butthurt women probably say something similar as well. Honestly, the thing that makes me really think it's referring to a guy is that it's posted on tumblr and people there tend to hate on "straight white boys"
Why is this "bitchy"? She's just voicing her frustration.

What's bitchy is the fact that boys actually say shit like that. That is the whiniest bullshit boys will say because women refuse to sleep with them so now they have to go around and try to bully them into compliance.
